Instrument donation to Cité-des-Jeunes School
An Emotional Unveiling
The unveiling event took on the feel of a true musical celebration. The school’s two concert bands and choir, gathered for the occasion, performed a piece by Sarahmée. A highlight of the event came when the artist joined the students on stage to sing with them, creating a palpable energy and an unforgettable memory.
Beyond the performance, Sarahmée took the time to generously engage with the students. Questions about her career path, the challenges of the profession, and the creative process were met with authenticity, curiosity, and kindness, offering students direct contact with an accessible and engaged artist.
« I was impressed by their level and their passion. Being able to share these moments with them, answer their questions, and hear about their ambitions was a privilege. This gesture truly makes a difference in these young people’s lives, and we could see it through their reactions,” said Sarahmée. »

« Today was not just about donating instruments; it was a meeting between an established artist and the talent of tomorrow. Seeing the concert bands and choir brought together, then singing with Sarahmée a piece they practiced all year, was a powerful reminder that music creates strong and lasting connections. I know these instruments will allow even more young people to develop their talent or passion and serve as a driver of success and confidence—that is what makes our mission so rewarding,” shared Anne-Marie Withenshaw, spokesperson for the evenko Foundation. »

Instruments That Open New Possibilities
Thanks to this donation, the school will be able to expand its instrumental inventory with two bassoons, two double horns, one saxophone, and twelve guitars. These additions will allow more students to access high-quality instruments and continue their learning under optimal conditions.
At Cité-des-Jeunes, music is a true catalyst for development. Students learn discipline, listening skills, collaboration, and self-confidence. Guided by dedicated teachers, including Mr. Marc-André Thibault (for 37 years!), they take part in exchanges, musical trips, and competitions where their concert bands regularly stand out. The evenko Foundation worked closely with the Cité-des-Jeunes Foundation to prepare this donation.
Beyond the new instruments, a strong message was delivered to the students: their talent deserves to be supported. In a school where music plays an essential role, this gesture further strengthens an already well-recognized program and allows the next generation to continue to thrive.
