A successful benefit concert: $340,000 for the evenko foundation Show

Montreal, May 15, 2018 - Last Saturday, in an electrifying, festive atmosphere, 200 young students from the evenko foundation program shared the stage of the Place des Arts' Théâtre Maisonneuve with big names of the local music scene during the evenko foundation Show presented by Desjardins, in collaboration with BellSolotech and Ticketmaster.

This night filled with celebration, delight and memorable moments made it possible for the foundation to raise even more money than last year, with a total of $340,000.

"It's a great privilege for us at evenko to be able to contribute to the development of the artistic talent of all these young people through initiatives such as the evenko foundation Show," said Jacques Aubé, Chief Operating Officer at evenko. "This benefit concert, which relies on the involvement of our partners and of all those who contribute by buying tickets, also raises funds that allow us to continue to help many programs that support the artistic pursuits of the students of the evenko foundation program."

Directed by Olivier Loubry, under the musical direction of Antoine Gratton, the evenko foundation Show allowed students to perform with such stars as Marc Dupré,La BronzeTravis Cormier, Ludovick Bourgeois and Margau. A surprise guest, the unique Marie Mai, made a remarkable appearance, while Jeff Stinco and Chuck Comeau from Simple Plan joined the band for a song.

"The evenko foundation has made it its mission to encourage young people in the practice of performing arts. The evenko foundation program offered in eight secondary schools of the Montreal region focuses on singing, guitar playing and visual arts. As such, the students can develop their talent, artistic creativity, confidence and determination," added Roman Oryschuk, Chairman of the Board of the evenko foundation. "These classes are free of charge for the students, the only condition being that they persevere in school. We notice during each edition of the evenko foundation Show that with support and encouragement, all these young people can excel, stay in school and experience unforgettable moments in the company of very generous artists."

The evenko foundation Show brings together students from the evenko foundation program of the Pointe-aux-Trembles, Daniel-JohnsonDalbé-ViauGeorges-Vanier, Saint-LaurentCavelier-de-La SalleAntoine-de-St-Exupéry and Père-Marquette secondary schools who have successfully completed their school year.

Since 2010, the evenko foundation Program offers free singing, guitar and scene oriented visual arts classes to more than 200 young Montrealers facing the risk of dropping out of school, giving them access to supervision and improved future prospects.

The third edition of the evenko foundation Show presented by Desjardins, in collaboration with BellSolotech and Ticketmaster took place under the honorary presidency of Martin Brunelle, Vice-President, Strategy and Innovation Office at Desjardins Group.
