Conservatoire de musique de la Montérégie

We support their symphonic orchestra project for the emerging talent between the ages of 5 to 25 years old, allowing the youth in music concentrations to live a musical learning experience at a level their own schools could not afford.

The project

Orchestre Symphonique du Conservatoire de la Montérégie: A springboard for young musical and artistic talent of 15-25 years old

The orchestra gives an opportunity to music concentration students to be part of a symphonic experience at a level that few schools are able to offer. The program teaches students to discipline themselves, to be punctual, to observe silence and to respect the authority of the conductor. They are encouraged in order to develop a sense of self-esteem which, by experience, is growing after each event and is a very important element in preparation for the challenges that lie ahead.

The Conservatory's students perform in concert four times a year; in December and April, during a concert in partnership with l’École de musique Vincent-d’Indy as well as the classic series event "Pianissimo" of the city of Saint-Lambert. Finally, the students will resume their fourth musical performance at the "Classica" festival in early June in front of a totally different audience, classical music amateurs. This will be an opportunity for them to play in a festival that is provincially and nationally recognized.
