The École des jeunes Receives Orchestra Instruments

19 orchestra instruments were offered to La Classe Enchantée youth of the University of Montreal Music Faculty. Orchestra conductor Jean-François Rivest was there to introduce them to the wonderful world of musical instruments.

 

On January 13, 2018, the evenko foundation and the École des Jeunes of the University of Montreal Music Faculty began a second year of collaboration. The École des jeunes offers music classes to Notre-Dame-des-Neiges elementary school students on a weekly basis through its "Classe enchantée" program. In the middle of the year, the students showing the most interest and talent begin their musical concentration and are given a specific orchestra instrument to practice.

Last year, a contribution of $ 10,000 was given in support of the purchase of harps by the evenko foundation. This year, flutes, violas were offered to the second cohort of young people.

To make this donation, the the University of Montreal orchestra conductor Jean-François Rivest welcomed the kids to introduce them to the orchestral world, to share his passion and his love of music and to give each of them their instrument while sharing his views on their beauty and their utility in an band.
